In Birmingham and Ann Arbor, Michigan

For minor cases of spider and reticular veins, or the small red and blue veins found on the lower legs, sclerotherapy can help. Whether spider veins have been caused by genetics, pregnancy, or a large amount of standing, treatment may minimize their undesirable appearance. In Ann Arbor and Birmingham, MI BOYD offers sclerotherapy to eliminate undesirable lines for clearer looking skin.

How Vein Treatment Works

A sclerosing solution is injected into the affected veins in order to irritate the cells lining the inside of the blood vessel, causing them to collapse. This procedure may need to be repeated depending on the size of the vein being treated. Over time, the target vein will be replaced, effectively reducing its visibility. The appearance of blue and red lines can be eliminated from your thighs.

What Can I Expect During Vein Treatment?

A typical Sclerotherapy session lasts 15 minutes with no post-procedure down time. Wearing compression stockings after treatment may be necessary  to improve results. After a session, you may notice less visible veins on the skin’s surface.
