What Can I Expect During my Chin Augmentation?
Your chin augmentation will be performed by Dr. Charles Boyd in our Birmingham office. For your comfort, we use local anesthesia during your surgery. Dr. Boyd will make a very small incision on the underside of the chin. Through this incision, he will be able to carefully place the implant into the treatment area and adjust it accordingly. The entire surgical process typically only takes about an hour to complete.
What Can I Expect During my Chin Augmentation Recovery?
Following your chin augmentation, you may experience tenderness, bruising, and swelling around your treated areas. This is normal and typically resolves on its own within the following one to two weeks. While most of our patients are able to return back to their normal daily activities, including work, about 7 to 10 days following their procedure, it typically takes up to four weeks to make a full recovery. Dr. Boyd will give you detailed post-operative care instructions prior to your chin augmentation to ensure a swift and easy recovery period.
