Q&A with Kayla
What’s your role at BOYD and what treatments do you offer?
As Lead Aesthetician, I oversee our esthetic team across BOYD locations, ensuring each provider stays current on treatment protocols, skincare education, and the high standard of care our patients expect. I also develop training systems, supports new-hire education, and helps maintain a seamless, elevated patient experience from start to finish.
How did you get into aesthetics?
My career path in aesthetics began in 2014 with BOYD. I started at the front desk, learning the flow of patient care and the foundation of our practice. That experience inspired me to go to esthetic school, and once I graduated, I stepped into my role as a first-time esthetician providing treatments and building my hands-on skills.
Over the years, I continued to grow, learn, and refine my craft which has led me to my current role as Lead Aesthetician. Today, I oversee our esthetic providers, ensure they’re up to date on treatments and continuing education, guide them on the services and skincare we offer, and write our treatment protocols. It’s been a full-circle journey, and I truly love where it’s taken me.
What do you love most about working in this industry?
What I love most about working in the aesthetic industry is seeing how our treatments truly transform not just appearances, but confidence. Helping someone feel more comfortable and empowered in their own skin is incredibly rewarding.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I love spending time with my family — my husband and kids truly mean everything to me. We’re happiest when we’re traveling together, especially on our trips to Florida or relaxing up north at our cabin on Torch Lake.
Have you tried any BOYD treatments? Which ones are your favorites?
My favorite treatments are the ones that make you feel instantly refreshed but also keep your skin looking amazing long-term. I’m obsessed with the BBL/Moxi combo—it just gives the prettiest glow and keeps your skin bright and healthy. Botox is a staple for me too it softens everything just enough without looking overdone. When I want that super smooth, fresh-faced look, I always go for a Dermaplane and HydraFacial combo. And for long-lasting, natural fullness, Sculptra is hands-down one of my top picks.
What concerns do patients commonly come to you with?
Patients usually come to me with concerns like pigmentation, sun damage, fine lines, acne scarring, and overall skin texture. I also see a lot of patients looking for preventative treatments, brightening, and natural-looking rejuvenation.
What’s one piece of advice you like to share during patient visits?
“Consistency always beats intensity." I tell patients that the best results come from a steady routine — consistent skincare, consistent treatments, and consistent follow-ups. You don’t have to do everything at once, you just have to keep showing up for your skin.
What do you love most about working at BOYD?
I love that BOYD is always growing, evolving our services, elevating our standards, and constantly finding ways to enhance the patient experience. Being part of that kind of forward momentum is inspiring, and it makes me proud to contribute to a brand that sets the bar high in aesthetics while still feeling like family.
I also love the people I get to work with. My coworkers have truly become friends—people I can laugh with, learn from, and rely on. That kind of trust and support makes even the busiest days feel meaningful. It’s rare to find a workplace where you feel both valued and genuinely connected, and BOYD has become exactly that for me.
What makes BOYD’s approach to aesthetics stand out?
What really sets us apart is the team. Our providers and front desk work together seamlessly, and the environment is genuinely supportive of coworkers who have become friends, and that energy shows in how we care for patients. We take time to educate, to listen, and to make sure every visit feels welcoming, elevated, and tailored.
